COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVING NET ZERO

Sunrise Technologies is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

This commitment reflects our responsibility to operate sustainably, reduce environmental impact where practical, and support wider efforts to address climate change while continuing to deliver reliable and resilient technology services to our clients.

Baseline Year: 2025
Reporting Period: 01/01/2025 – 31/12/2025

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in compliance with PPN 06/21. Emissions have been measured in line with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and include the greenhouse gases stated in the Kyoto Protocol, using UK Government conversion factors.

The 2025 reporting year is used as the baseline year to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data.

EMISSIONS REDUCTION TARGETS

Sunrise Technologies is committed to reducing absolute emissions over time, with particular focus on Scope 3 emissions, which represent the greatest opportunity for meaningful reduction.

Our reduction strategy prioritises:

  • Supplier engagement and responsible procurement

  • Continued support for hybrid working

  • Reduced travel and improved planning

  • Lifecycle extension and reuse of IT equipment

Formal reduction targets will be reviewed annually to ensure they remain achievable, evidence-based, and aligned with business growth.

CARBON REDUCTION PROJECTS

Completed and Ongoing Initiatives

The following measures are already in place or actively progressing:

  • Hybrid working model to reduce commuting emissions

  • Cycle to Work scheme

  • Solar-powered office with battery storage

  • LED lighting throughout office premises

  • Exploration of electric vehicle options as technology and availability improve

  • Responsible disposal and reuse of IT equipment

Sunrise Technologies is also closely partnered with Every Child Online, a registered charity co-founded by Director Simon Gurner, which repurposes decommissioned IT equipment for schools and community organisations. To date, the equivalent of £2.5 million of IT equipment has been reused, helping reduce electronic waste and the environmental impact of new device manufacturing.
