Do you want to move beyond reactive support and take ownership of real-world IT projects, from design through to implementation and handover? 

At Sunrise Technologies, we’re looking for a Technical Projects Engineer to join our growing team and take the lead on delivering hands-on IT projects including infrastructure builds, office relocations, and meeting room / Teams Room installations for our clients. 

This is a role where no two projects are the same - from Microsoft 365 deployments and networking infrastructure installations to full office moves and meeting room installations. 

This is not a purely support role.  You’ll be leading and delivering projects, making technical decisions, and ensuring the end result works for the customer. 

The Role Includes A Mix Of:

• Microsoft 365 deployments and migrations

• Infrastructure and network upgrades

• Office moves and relocations

• Desk setups and recommissioning

• Meeting room / Microsoft Teams Room installations

• Hands-on installs (racks, cabling, AV, infrastructure)

You’ll also take the lead on practical, hands-on project work, including: 

  • Office relocations and IT moves 

  • Desk decommissioning and recommissioning 

  • Meeting room / Microsoft Teams Room installations 

  • Network installations, Wi-Fi deployments, cabinet setup, patching and cabling 

This role is hands-on. You will be expected to physically install and deliver solutions including meeting room systems, network infrastructure, and office setups - not just design them, and you’ll be responsible for ensuring solutions are fully tested and working from an end-user perspective before handover. 

Ownership & Responsibility 

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering projects properly from planning them well, implementing them professionally, and leaving the customer environment better than they found it.  

You’ll take ownership of projects from: 

  • Planning and technical design 

  • Implementation and installation 

  • Testing and validation 

  • Documentation and handover 

You’ll also act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues when needed, supporting the wider team. 

 

What You'll Work With 

We don’t expect you to tick every box, but strong experience in the following is important: 

  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy 

  • Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID 

  • Networking (switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs) 

  • Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V) 

  • Backup solutions (Veeam, Datto or similar) 

  • Experience with Teams Rooms / AV / infrastructure installs 

  • Full desk setups and office relocations 

Experience delivering projects in an MSP or multi-client environment is highly desirable. 

What You’ll Get

Location: Basildon, Essex (with client side work) 

Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 (based on experience) 

Type: Full-time | Permanent
